I've decided that I need a (small) team to assist in making this project a reality. I intend for as much of this team as possible to be local, in the sense that I'll be in regular face-to-face contact with them.
Moderators and Roleplay Managers will still be recruited via online application when the time is right (when we have a public release).
Mostly I'll be looking for concept artists, amateur mesh modelers and texture artists, and settings writers and scripters. As we're using the unmodified PlaneShift engine I see no need for coders, and wholeheartedly encourage them to join PlaneShift so that their coding and bugfixes can be used not just by this project, but by PlaneShift and any of the other projects who have picked up the PlaneShift engine to use.

Just a heads up that the combat and magic system's code is housed in the MySQL Database and not hard coded in the server code. It is my understanding that the code in the math_scripts table is not the same code as is used in PS, the game. Best to double check this with the PS dev team. Some coding would likely be needed in those two areas in the very least (combat/magic).
Like the artwork, all MySQL data of PS, the game, is under the Atomic Blue license. Again, that is my understanding only; as my interest has been more in the movement area of the engine code to date.

Ok, I'll also open up a position as database coder and controller then. Preferably local, but anyone willing will be accepted.
The combat/magic scripts are coded in C++? That could make things tricky as it's a higher skill level than say Python or Java.

The combat/magic scripts are coded in C++? Yes, it appears so. Perhaps Java could be used in some inline fashion. Best to run that by the PS dev team though. - Burley

Once I have a demo release ready and released, I'll approach Talad and see if/what scripts PlaneShift is willing to share (as I'm doing some work for them as part of a collaborative partnership).
